improvise, adapt, & overcome
It’s not the strongest who survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most perceptive and responsive to change.
A key in growing successfully is the ability to adapt rapidly to the changing situation and capitalize on transient opportunities rather than strictly adhering to a predetermined course of action. The ability to adapt and exploit requires extraordinary judgment; a “feel” for the situation and knowing what to do, the knowledge of how to do it, and why it should be done. Exercise of this judgment is the art of growth at each level of success.
We define growth as positive movement within certain metrics.
These metrics correlate with the strategy set forth by the executives and leaders to strengthen the stability and viability of the organization. These metrics can vary depending upon the strategy and which portions of that strategy’s life cycle are being executed. However, growth is a natural byproduct of health. A healthy organization grows naturally and logically when there is harmony among its People, Processes, and Provisioning.
A growth strategy is a health improvement strategy.
Where health is, growth will follow.
Organic growth is the increase in an organization’s performance metrics and value due to internal operations. This is in contrast to inorganic growth, which is brought about by mergers, acquisitions, and non-operational increases. Organic growth demonstrates an organization’s true potential. It demonstrates that the executives and leaders are using physical and intangible assets to increase the organization’s value. Organic growth generated from this type of behavior is a good indication that an organization is healthy, and is utilizing its assets to their highest and best purpose.
With any growth initiative there is always mad impatience for results without considering the means. Proper expectations must be set and ample time is needed to let things develop and succeed. However, the key that unlocks growth is harmonization.
Harmonization is owned by the leaders of the organization, and leading an organization’s growth is the art of dealing with human nature and the human condition through accurate perceptions.
